Peacefully at Perth Community Care, Perth on Saturday, August 3, 2002 Kathleen Elizabeth (Echlin) Sargeant in her 78th year. Wife of the late Garnet David William Sargeant; daughter of the late Howard and Agnes Echlin. Loving and loved mother of Leonard (Diane) Echlin, Norma (Don) Melanson, Rick (Joan) Sargeant of Lanark and Darleen Sargeant (Ray Storie) of Ottawa. Predeceased by daughter Donna Barr. Cherished and loved grandmother of Shelley, Peter (Kellie) and Kevin (Kyla) Echlin, Lorna (Pat) Quinn, Adam Melanson, Jodi (Dave) McFarlane, Julie (Jason Dowdall) and Jill Barr, Megan and Alana Sargeant. Great grandmother (GG) to Mackenzie and Allison Quinn, Gage and Kobe Echlin and Justin Dowdall. Dear sister of Annie Smith, Reg Echlin, Margaret Milotte, Emma (Gerald) Desjardine, Edna (Ray) Emon all of Lanark and Viola Charlebois of Perth; predeceased by sister Lucy Wark and brothers Lloyd, Jim and John Echlin. Katie will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Young Funeral Home, Lanark on Tuesday, August 6, 2002 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Lanark on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Pinehurst Cemetery, Playfairville.
