We celebrate the full life of Americo Cardarelli, Father, brother, Papa, Zio and friend to many. "Papa" passed into glory Tuesday, August 13, 2002 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Fenice. Loving father of Sebastian (Claudia), Peter (Elizabeth), Maria Makuch (Rick) and Rita. Much love Papa to Alea, Luisa, Aram, Christine Scales (Nathan), Jane, Joshua, Talia and Ben. Dear brother of Frank (Mary) and Tilia (of Italy). Zio to many nieces and nephews in Ottawa, Toronto, Washington, Oregon, Detroit and Italy. Predeceased by brother Francesco and sisters Ida and Vincenza. Americo was born in the mountains of Italy (Ovindoli), was a decorated Alpini regiment veteran of WWII and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral Saturday to The Life Centre for Service at 10 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations to The Hospice at May Court appreciated. Papa lived by the Christian motto "Work hard and love each other." He was a carpenter, cement mixer and tile setter extraordinaire.
