(nee Gurd) In Toronto, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Aug., 13th 2002 at the age of 84. Survived by John, her loving husband of 60 years. Beloved mother of John, Tony and Jane (Ekers), mother-in-law of Joan, Beth and Tom. Mary will be greatly missed by her 8 grandchildren: Jennifer (Harris), Alexandra, Naomi, Zoe, Shaunagh, Michael, Jeremy and Jordan, and her great-grandson, Will Harris. She was predeceased sadly by her daughter Jane (Ekers) and by her brother and sister, Margaret and Stuart. The funeral service will be held at Grace Church on-the-Hill, 300 Lonsdale Road, Toronto, on Aug. 15, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Princess Margaret Hospital for their dedication and unending kindness in all of their support.
