It is with great sadness that the family of Sybil Godden announces the passing of their mother who passed away quietly on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her loving family; John (Trudy), Linda, Barry (Marie) and Andy (Cathie); 5 grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Ethan, Chelsea and Jillian; 3 brothers, Grant (Verna) McIlquham, Doug (Barb) McIlquham, Jim (Isobel) McIlquham and special friends Maritta and Vic Davies, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lt/Col. J.R. Godden (Ret'd), and daughter Carol-Anne. Sybil graduated from Kingston General Hospital as a registered nurse in 1950. She was very proud of her nursing heritage and her many friends that she made over the years. Our mom gave selflessly of herself to her family and friends and asked for nothing in return. A Celebration of Sybil's Life will be held at her home at 191 Coventry Green NE, Calgary on Sunday, August 18, 2002 from 1-4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. An interment will be held at the family plot in Ompah, Ontario at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation in Sybil's memory may be made to the Kingston General Hospital Nurses Alumni, or charity of one's choice.
