Peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, David Donald Mackie of Edwards in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (Whyte). Son of the late Nicol Mackie Sr. and Mary (Geymonat). Much loved father of Shirley (Leonard Quinn), Marilyn (Les James), Glenn (Joanne McWilliams), Stuart (Norma Lapointe) and the late Darrell. Proud grandpa of Krista, Erin and Laurie Quinn and James and Heather Mackie. Dear brother of Jean (Allison Fawcett), Marion (Ray Herbert), Ruth (Al Lafortune), Nicol (Aproil MacNamanara), Peggy (Russell Scharf) and the late Madeline (Ken Atherfold) and Gerald Mackie (Bonnie Monahan). Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Duncan Funeral Home, Chapel and Reception Centre, 6971 Bank Street (formerly Highway 31, between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Saturday to St. Andrew's and St. Paul's United Church, Mill Street, Russell for Service at 11 a.m. Interment Hawthorne Anglican Cemetery.
