Peacefully, Saturday, August 24, 2002, in hospital. Rita Briscoe, age 72. Born in Pembroke, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary (Amyotte) Briscoe. Beloved wife of 50 years of Bill. Loving mother of Colleen (Alan) Okros and Timothy. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Michelle. Dear sister of Garry (Judy), Sudbury. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by dear friend June MacInnis. Predeceased by brothers Gilbert and Jack. A member of the Catholic Women's League, she will be missed by friends in communities and parishes in Ottawa; Winnipeg; Montreal; St. Jean; Washington; Townsville, Australia; and most recently Divine Infant Parish in Orleans. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 2370 St. Joseph Boulevard, Orleans, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. Funeral Wednesday to Divine Infant Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11:45 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
