Peacefully at Broadview Nursing Centre, Smiths Falls on Sunday, August 25, 2002, William "Bill" Whiteland in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Ruby (Shepherd) 1994, Elsie (Scott) 1980. Predeceased by daughter Jean Falkner (Whiteland) 1987, brother Arthur (Art) 2000 and sister Iris (1972). Survived by brother Norman of Gatesville, Texas. Dear Grandfather of Mark Falkner of Windsor, Ontario, Paul Falkner of Smiths Falls and John Falkner of Duncan, B.C. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Whiteland was an avid local sports enthusiast for over 65 years. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, August 28th from 7:00 p.m. followed by service in the chapel at 8:00 p.m. Interment, Hillcrest Cemetery on Thursday.
