passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the age of 92. Devoted and loving husband of the late Mary Catherine (nee Tribble). Father of late Maureen Anne Ismaily (nee Carson). Brother to the late Cliff Carson (Audrey) and the late Mildred (Alan). He is survived by his son Andrew Bruce Carson (Catherine), son-in-law Guljee Ismaily and two granddaughters Nasreen and Yasmine (Mukhtar Ali), his brother Harold Carson (Betty), nieces, nephews and friends. Born and raised in Ottawa, he received a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from Queens University followed by a post-graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin. He then had a long and distinguished career as a Research Scientist with the Department of Agriculture. After retirement he retained his strong interest in science and nature, including conservation and humanity through his volunteer work and generous charitable contributions. He travelled widely, including trips to Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, and across Canada, but mostly he loved to spend his holidays at the cottage he built on the Ottawa River. He is deeply loved by us and will be missed terribly. A true gentleman, loving husband, great father and a very wonderful grandfather. A memorial service will be held in his honour Sunday, September 15, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Unitarian Church of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue. The Ottawa Citizen, 07-09-2002
