It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Edward Taylor, 54 at Vancouver General Hospital on Sunday, September 1, 2002. Chris was born in Kitchener, Ontario, graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1969, and received his M.A. from the University of Toronto. Early in his career he stayed on and taught at the U of T. He later went on to work for the Federal Government in both Ottawa and Vancouver, first in Immigration and most recently, with Health Canada. He is sorrowfully missed by his wife Helen, son Lenny, daughter Vanessa, mother Ruth Taylor of White Rock, sister Debbie Koper, sister Lois Wynne (Rod Blackett) of Squamish, brother Doug (Colleen) of Courtenay and sister-in-law Cathryn Taylor. The family wishes to thank the staff of East 8 for their exemplary nursing care and medical attention that Chris received during his short time in hospital. Chris demonstrated in his professional life as a federal civil servant, in his private life as a loving partner and father, and his "vinyl" life as an ardent record collector, that a balance could be maintained. He was respected for his integrity and loved for his honesty. Please join family, friends and colleagues at the Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver Island Room on Sunday, September 8, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a memorial gathering and an opportunity to share with others our love for this dear man. Donations can be made to BC Cancer Foundation or the BC SPCA. The Ottawa Citizen, 05-09-2002
