R.N. (nee Theriault) Gently, my sweet wife and friend left us in the early morning of September 22, aged 72. She was born in Halifax, N.S., April 20, 1930. She worked as an R.N., first in Tuberculosis, then Pediatrics. She married in 1956 and focused on her family who were with her at the end. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Mary Anne (d. 1980). She is loved and remembered by her husband Walter "Dan". Also, by her children Laura (Michael), Daniel (Daryl), Micheal (Stephanie) and Liam (Pamela). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Mairead and Maeve of Ottawa; Nora, Lucia and Giuseppe of Hanoi, Vietnam; and Sinead and Aidan of Thousand Oaks, California. She will also be missed by her remaining sibling Margaret Barry of Montreal. She will be mourned by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Throughout her long fight against Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy (PSP) and Breast cancer she was helped by many. The family thanks Drs. Auer, Haq, Barclay, Mendis and nurses who attended her. We also thank Sylvia Murphy-Plouffe (CCAC) and Debbie Rousseau (VON) as well as Maureen Thomas and Charlene Hall of Direct-Care. In her final days Dr. Campbell and his team and the nurses of 5B (Civic) treated her well. She was then transferred to the wonderfully caring May Court Hospice where, at the end, Kelly was an invaluable guide. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Rd. (east of Bank) Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday to Blessed Sacrament Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
