Peacefully at Starwood Extendicare on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 in her 83rd year. Beloved daughter of the late Harold and Emma Merrill. Predeceased by her infant sister Patricia Ann. Survived and dearly loved by her sister Phyllis Beveridge of Nepean, niece Susan Fletcher of North Bay and nephew Rev. Bryan Beveridge (Rita) of Perth. Cherished great-aunt of Sheena Lazarou (Peter) of North Bay, Thomas J. Fletcher of Peterborough, David R. Fletcher of North Bay, Matthew and Jason Beveridge of Calgary, AB. Noryne was also blessed with a great-great-niece Hayley Lazarou and a great-great-nephew Brenden Lazarou of North Bay. In 1946, Noryne worked for the Canadian Red Cross in London, England, helping process war brides to come to Canada. She travelled extensively and retired after many years in the Department of Agriculture. Our heartfelt thanks for the kind and loving care given to Nonnie during her stay at Starwood. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 555 Parkdale Ave. from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery.
