WWII Veteran - RCAF In hospital on Sunday, September 29, 2002 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Maysie Alice (nee Edwards). Loving father of Lynda, Beth (Ron Atkinson) and David. Dear grandfather of Cara and Brian Gilbertson, Graham Long, Jonathon and Joshua Rivington. Brother of Wilma Coburn and Edwin, brother-in-law of Audrey. Predeceased by his sister Vera Arbuthnot, brothers Dr. Neville and Norman. Garrett joined the RCAF in early 1940 and served overseas in England and Scotland for over four years in Bomber Command and Fighter Command. He returned to Canada in 1944 and underwent pilot training, graduating as a pilot before the end of the war. Following the war he farmed until the 1980s. Garrett was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Orleans Branch #632. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be Celebrated on Thursday October 3, 2002 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Navan at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery.
