(Long-time employee for over 45 years with J. D. Sanderson and WWII Veteran) Peacefully and comfortably at home on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at age 93. Beloved husband for 54 years of Joan (nee Barrett). Loving father of Derek (Linda) and Heather (Brian Martelock). Dear grandpa of Jennifer (deceased), Valerie, Carolyn and Julia. Also survived by sisters Louise Gruzd and Emma Smith and by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Monday, October 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held at Britannia United Church, 985 Pinecrest Road on Tuesday, October 15, at 11 a.m. In his memory those wishing may make a donation to the Juno Beach Memorial Foundation c/o Juno Beach Centre, 24 - 2407 Woodward Avenue, Burlington, Ontario, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
