John BENSON

BA FBOA, FNOA Mr. John Benson passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford, on Thursday, October 10, 2002. He was born in Swansea, Wales, October 10, 1913, son of the late Alwyn Thomas Benson and Amelie (nee Howell) and emigrated to Canada in 1966. He wa a Flt. Lt. with the RAF Bomber Squadron 1939-1946. He was a member of the British Fight Directors Association and was a Rotarian and Borough Councillor. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Alwyn, sisters Rachel and Margaret and by his son Jonathan Noel Benson (1944-1977). John is survived by his wife Nella (Jane), his daughter Susan Benson Whitfield, his son in law Michael Whitfield and his daughter-in-law Serafina Sebastyan. A celebration of Johns' life will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home Reception Centre, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Saturday, October 26, 2002 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorials may be made to Parkinson's Foundation or to Spruce Lodge through the funeral home.
