Ret'd Ottawa Fire Department Veteran WWII (21st Canadian Armoured Regiment); Member of Governor General's Foot Guards Peacefully, on Friday October 11, 2002 at the age of 86. Emmet O'Connell, beloved husband of Betty Lynott. Loving father of Barbara Hemming (Francis), Michael (Margaret), Bill and predeceased by Betty Ann. Cherished grandfather of Maureen, Sean and Robert. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy and by his brother Bill. Friends may call at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 235 Kent Street from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, followed by private cremation. Donations to St. Patrick's Home, 2865 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, would be appreciated.
