CSJ (Sr. Inez) Sister Loretta passed away peacefully into her eternal rest at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke on October 23, 2002. She was in the 77th year of her religious life. Left to mourn her loss are her Sisters in the Congregation, her sister, Mrs. Gertrude (Bernard) Scully of Garson, Ontario, her sister-in-law, Carmen (Bourget) Turgeon of Whitby, Ontario, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and many friends in the areas where she ministered. Sister was dedicated to her ministry as housekeeper/sacristan in Douglas, Chapeau, Mount St. Patrick, Calabogie, Campbell's Bay, Sheenboro, Quyon, Deep River, Killaloe, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Ottawa and Pembroke. She performed these duties with great faithfulness. On her retirement from them, she worked with patients in palliative care at the Bruyere Centre in Ottawa until 1996 when she moved to the Motherhouse in Pembroke. Sister Loretta was born at Calumet Island, Quebec, a daughter of the late John Turgeon and the late Mary Trottier. She is predeceased by her sisters, Leah (Meilleur), Isabel (Morrison), Dora (Fortier), Annie (Gervais), Ernestine (Proulx), Rose (Laporte), Margaret (Gervais), Pansy and brothers Jack and Edgar. Visitation at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke on Friday, October 25th from 3:00 p.m. Prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel. Interment at St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke.
