died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and supportive care-workers on Saturday, October 26, 2002. She was born on October 9, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Grinnell College, Iowa in physics and music. As a graduate physics student at Berkeley, California she met her husband Arthur Covington (deceased 2001). They moved to Ottawa, ON where they raised a family of four: Nancy, Eric, Alan and Janet. She was an avid musician and played in the Ottawa Symphony and many chamber groups. After retiring to Kingston, she continued her musical interest, playing and supporting the Kingston Symphony Orchestra. Her interests also included gardening and a love of nature, which was infectious for all those around her. She will be sadly missed by her children and their spouses, her 5 grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephew, and many friends. She was predeceased by her only sister, Betty. A celebration of life service will be held at the Kingston Unitarian Fellowship, 214 Concession Street, on Sunday November 3 at 3 p.m. Donations to The Canadian Cancer Society.
