72, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 16, 2002, surrounded by his family. Born in Sydney, N.S. Loving husband to Verna (Matthews) and devoted father to Alan, Janet and Vivian (Byrne). Dearly loved by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving is sister Ivy and two brothers, Max and Harold in Sydney, N.S. After serving as a police officer in Sydney, N.S., he worked for the federal government for 32 years. A memorial service will be held at Riverside United Church, 3191 Riverside Dr. at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, November 24, with the Rev. A.J. MacDonald officiating.
