Monday, November 18, 2002, Hal Rideout, in his 76th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Beryle Merritt. Loving father of Richard (Bonnie), Debbie Malone (Jim) and Alison. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin and Megan. Son of the late Frank and Mary (Hitchcock) Rideout. Dear brother of Ernest, Aylmer, PQ, Walker, Texas, Dr. Sam, Maine, Frank Clayton (Connie) St. John, NB, Donald, Fredericton, NB, Dr. David (Dr. Rosalita) Sudbury, ON, Elizabeth, Fredericton, NB, Roberta Swade, Pennsylvania and the late Mary Emily and Hurlow. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Hal began work at International Plywood, Gatineau, PQ in 1947. During his career he worked at all three board mills designing both mill machinery and buildings. He also designed several private homes as well as the renovation to St. Andrews United Church in Gatineau. Hal's passions included wood working, playing bridge and golfing with his friends. A Service in Memory will be held Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Kanata United Church at 10 a.m. Donations to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital or the Ottawa Humane Society S.A.V.E. Fund appreciated.
