(nee Minnie Gamble, daughter of Sarah Maria and George) At Carling View Manor, Ottawa, on Sunday November 24, 2002, at the age of 98. She will be sorely missed by her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Herbert. Dear mother of Mary (Mrs. Fred Harris), Charles (Karen) and Michael. Survived by brother Harry Gamble of Port Dover, grandchildren Susan, Mary, Karen, Rebecca, Alexandria and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Ella Powell, Myrtle Grace, Marjorie Diver and Verna Gamble. Minnie was an excellent school teacher, particularly for special needs students. She taught in Toronto, Kirkland Lake, Port Dover area, Tennessee, U.S.A. and Ottawa. During W.W.II, Minnie was part of the Naval staff at Headquarters in Ottawa where her duties involved the diversion of ships in convoy in the Atlantic. In retirement she designed and helped build the Rideau Manor (Now Swan on the Rideau) near Kars. Friends may call at the Rideau Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Drive, Kars (east of the 416), on Thursday November 28th from 9 a.m. until Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. A donation to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa, 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa, ON, would be appreciated.
