R.C.M.P. S/S/M (Rtd) Canada Post Peacefully at Island Lodge on Monday, December 2, 2002. Loved dearly by Patrica Kells, his wife of 56 years. Proud father of Jane Nuttall (Dr. Richard) of Victoria, B.C., George Pickering (Helene Lamontagne), Judith Davies (Christopher). Treasured grandfather of John and Andrew Nuttall, Marc, Julie and Patrick Pickering, Lindsay, Meredith and Stephanie Davies. Twin brother of Frederick Charles Pickering and wife Muriel of Beaconsfield, PQ. Uncle of Beth Kirkpatrick of Baie D'Urfe, PQ. Predeceased by his brother Herbert Kitchener Pickering and Margaret E. Kirkpatrick. George was born at Notre Dame de Gras, Montreal on May 1, 1918. He was proud to be a member of the R.C.M.P. for 27 years, stationed at Big River, Nipawin and Tisdale, Sask., Toronto, Cobourg, London and Ottawa, Ont. In a second career he was with Canada Post for 16 years. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Charter Member of the Lion's Club of Cobourg, Ontario. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, December 6, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 11 a.m. In the spirit of friendship donations may be made to The Well, 154 Somerset Street West, Ottawa. The Family wishes to convey their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the 4th Floor at Island Lodge for their loving care and compassion. For everything there is a season. The Ottawa Citizen, 04-12-2002
