Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception Peacefully Sunday December 15, 2002 at the Hospice at May Court in the forty-first year of her religious life. Predeceased by her parents Carl and Loretta (McAuley) Fairbairn and her brother Bill. She will be greatly missed by members of her religious congregation and her family: Joan (Paul) Rooney, Sister Catherine Fairbairn, G.S.I.C., Bob (Doreen Cooney), Dora (Jake) Gouthro, Bert (Jane Bunston) as well as her aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and cherished friend, Gisele Lalonde. During her religious life, Anne taught music in Ottawa and was a teacher in Rock Sound, Bahamas and Vancouver B.C. Most recently, Sister Anne taught special needs students in Barrie, Ontario, leaving a legacy of love to all these children who became such a precious part of her life. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Ave (west of Carlingwood) Monday, December 16, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Grey Sisters Motherhouse, Pembroke, Ontario on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 from 3 to 9 p.m. with Vespers at 7 p.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated in the Grey Sisters Motherhouse Chapel on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. Members of the Catholic Women's League, Cathedral Parish, will meet for prayers at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2002. Interment at St Columba's Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Kelly Funeral Home, Ottawa and Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke. The Grey Sisters and Family wish to thank the Staff at the Hospice at May Court in Ottawa for their most loving and compassionate care of Sister Anne.
