Vera Edna SIMMONS

(nee Simmons) With great sadness, in hospital, with family at her side on Thursday, December 19, 2002 at the age of 86. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Sydney Last. Loving mother of Jean O'Connor (Ian), Lorraine Doig (Gordon), Ida-Mae Hillman (Joe Mayer) and Ken (Garnet). Cherished grandma of Lesley, Adrienne, Robbie, Kari, Joelle and Corleigh and great-grandma of Kyle, Rylee, Colin, Jessica, Sarah and Sam. She is survived by her brothers Bill Simmons of Vancouver BC, and Gus Simmons (Liz) of Niagara Falls and sisters Maria Prest of Riondel BC, Victoria Madden of Thunder Bay, Florence Miles of Brantford and Anna Thompson (Grant) of Watford. She will be sadly missed by her loving companion Earl Spano. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at the Aviation Parkway on Sunday, December 22 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 23 at 1 p.m., with reception to follow. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Activities Group of Starwood Extendicare would be appreciated by the family.
