1911 - 2002 With sadness, the family announces the death of Jean Forrest on Friday, December 20, 2002 in Ottawa after a brief illness. Born in Stoney Creek, Alberta on August 7, 1911, Jean lived most of her 91 years in Winnipeg, moving to Ottawa three years ago to be closer to her family. The beloved wife of the late Edward Forrest, Jean was dearly loved by their four children, Patricia, Jack (Jill), Phyllis (Mike) and Judy (Neil). Jean was cherished by her eight grandchildren - their beloved "Nana" - and eight great-grandchildren. The eldest of eight sisters, she was predeceased by Rosalie and Mary and will be missed by her surviving sisters Stella, Anne, Irene, Julie and Frances. She will also be missed by her extended family, including Ed's family and friends both in Winnipeg and Ottawa. Jean enjoyed a full and wonderful life with her husband, she travelled around the world, gardened and was active in community and church activities. Her life revolved around her family. With her energy and loving care, she made the summer cottage the favourite family gathering spot. Jean was gracious - and tenacious! We will miss her wonderful smile. We wish to sincerely thank the nursing staff at the New Edinburgh Square for their caring attention to Jean. In respect of her wishes a private family service to celebrate her life has been arranged. Interment next to her husband will take place at a later date at the Waverley Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg. The Ottawa Citizen, 22-12-2002
