KONCZ, Sandra Jean (née Ranta) The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at the age of 59 years. Daughter of Wester Onni Ranta of Sudbury and of the late Kaarina Ranta (née Wahamaa). Beloved wife of Joe Koncz of Val Caron. Cherished mother of Kathie Koncz (friend Ray) of Warren, Joe Koncz (wife Sonja) of Val Thérèse and Heidi Koncz (fiancé Neil) of Val Caron. Predeceased by her son Jim Koncz. Loving sister of Carole-Ann Ball (husband Jim) of Winnipeg, Bruce Ranta (wife Lillian) of Kenora and Barry Ranta (wife Nicole) of Val Caron. Dear aunt of Fred, Geoff, Dorothy, Rick and Roxanne. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jefferie, Joey and Denver. She will also be dearly missed by her relatives in California and Maine and by her good friends Airi and Lorraine. Sandra, an English teacher at Cambrian College for 35 years retired in 2002. Her 39 year teaching career started in a one room schoolhouse in Wahnapitae. She taught English as a second language for foreign immigrants for many years. She did beautiful embroidery and crafts and gave them thoughtfully to the people she loved. Sandra was very involved in the Hungarian Folklore Ensemble for many years. She had a big heart and would do whatever she could to make people happy. Anyone who knew her carries a very special gift. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Vigil prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 11 a.m. in St. Kevin’s Church, Val Thérèse. 9/13/2002- ID831736 - Sudbury Star
