LAPORTE, Bill (William) N.J. The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, Monday, September 16th, 2002, at the age of 76 years. Son of the late Rose Anna Laporte (née Therrien) and of the late Willy Laporte. Predeceased by his former wife Toini Laporte (née Holla). Beloved father of Evelyn and Raymond both of Sudbury, Robert (wife Paula Baker-Laporte) of Santa Fé, New Mexico and Eleanor (husband Doug Cameron) of Kitchener. Loving brother of Beatrice Lefebvre, Maurice Laporte (wife Gloria) both of Sudbury, Rolland Laporte (wife Cecile), Lucien Laporte (wife Ada) and Claude Laporte (wife Pauline) all of Dowling. Predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Paul and by his sisters Germaine and Rita Asselin. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by the Laporte family and by the Holla family. Mr. Laporte was retired from Falconbridge after 43 years of service. He was an active member of Mine Mill Local 598 as well as being a member of the War Pensioners of Canada. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. East (at Notre-Dame) Sudbury, Wednesday September 18, 2002, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bishop Roger Despatie Chapel at the Co-Operative Funeral Home, Sudbury, interment to follow at Civic Memorial Cemetery.
