DOYLE, Aileen (Nee Gainer) In loving memory of Aileen Doyle (nee Gainer), 85 years of Sudbury who passed away Wednesday evening, September 18th, 2002 at the SRH - Laurentian Site. She was born in Arthur and married J. Lorne Doyle in 1951 in Sudbury. Aileen came to Sudbury in 1934. She was a devout Roman Catholic who belonged to Christ the King Church and the parish CWL. A dedicated teacher she taught for over 30 years with the Sudbury Seperate School Board at St. Thomas School. She was a member of the Superannuated Teachers’ Association. She was a great friend and advocate for children. Her student’s were Aileen’s extended family and she took great interest in their activities and progress. She was supportive of her husband’s work and leadership within the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #76 Sudbury and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and she was an accomplished golfer having several holes in one. Aileen spent many happy times at her cottage on the French River. She will be remembered as a determined person who was always generous and kind to others. Beloved wife of J. Lawrence "Lorne" Doyle predeceased 1997. Cherished daughter of Joseph and Annie Gainer predeceased. Loving sister of Loretta Daoust (husband Clovis) of Sudbury and the late Edmund, Wilfred, Francis, Joseph, Gerard and Eldon all predeceased. Special auntie to Janet Bradley of Sudbury. Fondly remembered by great nieces who were like granddaughters to her Lara Bradley (husband Peter Zwarich) and Kari Bradley; and great great auntie to Sebastian and Quinn. Dear sister-in-law of M.J. and Edward Doyle and Mona Kilby all predeceased. Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury, Saturday, September 21st, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
