Susan Mary WITHERS

Age fifty-two, died peacefully on December 23, 2002. After bravely struggling with cancer for months, Susan finally joined her dear parents, Virginia and Kenneth Withers, in Heaven. Born and raised in Montreal, Susan only moved to Vancouver recently to be closer to her sister Debbie Hoeberg, brother-in-law Alex Elgard, and beloved niece Laura. She adored dogs Casey ("four-legged niece") and Monty ("four-legged nephew"). She was proud and happy in her new home at Oakridge Towers. Susan's sunny disposition and gentle spirit touched all that knew her. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends, both in Vancouver and in the East. Sincere thanks to the nursing, pastoral care, and medical staffs of St. Paul's and Vancouver hospitals. Special appreciation to Barb Cave and Drs. Cumming, Dvorak, Gelmon, Lim, and Ryan. Also special thanks to loving friends Ann, Beverley, and Theresa. You all helped to ease Sue's difficult journey home. Memorial Service and reception to be held at Brock House, 3875 Point Grey Road, Vancouver on January 19 at 2 p.m.
