Gail Edith Lyrette It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gail Lyrette, 60, of Fort Frances, Ont. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital (Port Arthur) after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed by loving husband, Phillip, and loving mother, Edith Laughton; mother-in-law, Beatrice Lyrette; son, Michael Back; daughter, Kathleen (Ryan) Moffett; grandson, Michael (Tammy); granddaughters, Amanda, Rebbeca, and Sara and grandson, Reece; and great-grandchildren, Samual, Stanley, and Brandi. Gail also will be sadly missed by Jacqueline Laughton and family (Kelowna, B.C.), Rick and Diane McColeman and family (Stroud, Ont.), and many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her special aunt, Kathleen and uncle, Ab Otway, and cousins, Verna and Ernie Barrie, and Donna and Jim Eklund. Gail was predeceased by her brother, Roger Laughton (1984); father-in-law, Edmund Lyrette (1995); father, Loy Laughton (1996); and brother, Tim Laughton (2001). A memorial service for family and friends, officiated by Rev. Ed Long, will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Oliver Road, Thunder Bay, Ont. After the service, coffee will be served at the Oliver Road Community Centre (563 Oliver Rd.) In lieu of flowers, if so desired, in memoriam donations can be made in Gail’s memory to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. Gail, God saw you getting tired A cure was not yet to be, So he wrapped his arms around you And whispered “Come to Me.”
