Emily Marion Jean Boles (nee Elliott) Passed away January 21, 2002 in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital. Emily was born in Glassville, New Brunswick to the late Aurilla and Frederick Elliot but lived in the Kingston area for the past 49 years. Wife of the late Frank D. Boles (1984), she was employed at the Alcan Research Centre for 34 years performing various secretarial and administrative functions. She retired from her position in Human Resources Administration in 1987. Emily was a member of the Alcan Retirees Club, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 146, various women’s groups and committees within St. Margaret’s Church. Throughout her life, Emily was a "keen" and enthusiastic gardener and spent many hours tending to her home at Churchill Crescent. After retirement, she travelled extensively and enjoyed recounting and sharing memories of her trips with her many family members and friends. Her dog "Scampi" was her pride and joy. She loved shopping, taking bus trips with the seniors, and back yard BBQ’s with her friends. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and is missed by many family, friends and neighbours. Emily is survived by her sisters Mary (Mrs. Herbert Marshall) of Toronto, Ontario; Maude (Mrs. Fred Mooers) of Houlton, Maine; and many loving nieces and nephews from Northwest Territories, Ontario, New Brunswick, Maine and New York. She was predeceased by her husband; her sisters, Jessie (Mrs. Lewis Welch) of New Brunswick; Gladys (Mrs. George Forbes) of St. John, New Brunswick; Margaret (Mrs. Roy Boles) of New Brunswick; and her brother Frederick Elliot of New Brunswick. The funeral was held at James Reid Funeral Home Cataraqui Chapel with a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life following cremation. On May 20, 2002, inurnment took place at Keirsteadville Cemetery, New Brunswick attended by sisters Mary and Maude, their families and many nieces, nephews and friends. 013941 6/15/2002- ID470086 - Kingston Whig Standard
