Matilda (Til) Blair Long time resident of Harrowsmith, Matilda (Til) Blair passed away on June 24, 2002 at Kingston General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Til was born in Maberly, September 13, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Agnes Conroy. She was married to Melville Blair on June 26, 1935 at Fitzroy Harbour. Til was a life long dedicated member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Harrowsmith. She was the recipient of a long service award pin from the Diocese in 1992. Til was interested in community activities and organizations and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She took great pride in her family and friends. Many of her hours were spent sewing, quilt making, knitting and cooking for them. Til was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister, Mabel Fournier and brother Edward Whiticar. She is survived by her daughter Gail (Art) Leeman of Glenburnie, her grandson Blair Leeman of Inverary, sisters Mahalia `Hillie’ Rubino of Carleton Place and Ruby McVeigh of Perth. A celebration of her life was held June 28, 2002 at Lindsay’s Funeral Home in Sydenham with Rev. Jim McShane officiating. Interment was at Brooke Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews Art Fournier, David Wood, Brian McVeigh, Dwight Whiticar, Paul Warwick and grandson Blair Leeman.064783 7/20/2002- ID614844 - Kingston Whig Standard
