Nellie Strickland (nee Coates) Of Lombardy, Ontario. Peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 15, 2002, after a lengthy battle with kidney failure, at Smiths Falls Community Hospital, in her 89th year. Widow of James Strickland. Loved mother of Yvonne (Don) Moore, Ernie (Phyllis) Strickland, Albert (Shirley) Strickland, Vera (Stan) Haskin, Faye (Bob) Clark, Stanley (Lois) Strickland, Lois De Salvo, David Strickland, and Glenn Strickland. Sister of Mrs. Pat Carr. Loving grandmother of 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. The viewing took place at Lannin Funeral Home in Smiths Falls on Tuesday, July 16. A church service was held Wednesday, July 17, in Lombardy United Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tucker officiating. A loving eulogy of her life was presented by two granddaughters Trista Strickland and Amanda Strickland.
