Charles Edward DWYER

Charles Edward Dwyer Charlie Dwyer passed away on May 13, 2002 at the age of 76 at his home. He was the son of the late Patrick Dwyer and the late Katherine Nolan. Charlie was born in Camden East, then moved to Croydon early in his childhood and remained there all his life. Charlie farmed and worked for CP Rail for 22 years, then worked 23 years at Strathcona Paper until his retirement in 1990. He was an avid sports fan enjoying watching his children and grandchildren play hockey, baseball and broomball. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with young and old while taking in a sports event. After his retirement, Charlie became a member of the Knights of Columbus and also joined the Seniors Bowling League in Kingston. Charlie leaves his wife Patricia of 56 years and children Eugene of Kingston; Carol Anne Hanna (Phil), Larry (Kathy), Darlene; Angela Briceland (Edward); Theresa Asselstine (Ken); and Danny all of Croydon and Gerard (Maureen) of Enterprise. Predeceased by parents and sisters Anne Enright and Rita Quinlan and brothers Gerald and Bernard. Brother-in-law of Helen Dwyer of Rochester. He leaves fourteen grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Centreville on Friday, May 17th with Rev. Rene Labelle celebrating. Rev. Peter Murphy and Rev. Joe Lynch assisted. Pallbearers were Darren Dwyer, Thomas Hanna, Patrick Dwyer, Steve Dwyer, Lee Hannah and Bryon Conners. Interment followed at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
