Dorothy Kathleen Kemp Dorothy Kemp passed away at Extendicare Nursing Home November 1, 2002 in her 92nd year. A lifetime resident of Kingston and area she was a daughter of the late Fred and Eliza Compton. She attended S.S. #4 Ernestown Public School and was a graduate of Napanee Secondary High School. Dorothy was a member of Christ Anglican Church in Cataraqui where she married her husband Kenneth Leo Kemp in 1930. He predeceased her in 1990. She was employed as a retail salesperson for several years before becoming a receptionist for Dr. Dunlop, retiring 26 years ago. Her special interests included family gatherings, knitting, playing cards and travelling. She is survived by nieces and nephews Earl Baker, Kenneth Baker, Kathleen Cornett, Georgina Fell, Fred Pixley, Frances Dickerson, Robert Pixley, Gordon Lane, Fred Pomeroy, Faye Marie Bird, Donald Lane and several grand nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased her sisters Mae Lane (Art), Lola Pixley (Neil), Jean `Daisy’ Pomeroy (Arthur), Ethel Baker (Frank) and brother Andrew Compton (Margaret); nieces and nephews Murray Compton and John Compton, Doreen Johnson, Don Pixley, Clarence Baker, Mary Heard, Florence Peters and Margaret Lane. The funeral was held on November 4, 2002 with the Venerable Ed. Dallow officiating. Pallbearers were Fred Pixley, Robert Pixley, Neil Pixley, Kenneth Baker, Donald Lane, Thomas Dickerson.
