Thelma Marguerite Elliott-Grierson At the Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview on November 26, 2002, Thelma passed away at the age of 86. She was born to Garfield and Edith (nee Churchill) Eligh in Brockville on March 29, 1916 and lived in the Brockville area where she worked at Walker’s Biscuit Factory until she moved to Kingston in 1954. She took a position in the drapery department of the Simpson Sears store in Kingston before moving on to a warehouse position from where she retired 21 years ago. Thelma was the dear wife of Frank Elliott. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560, Ladies Auxiliary past president and life member. Prior to her stay at Helen Henderson, she enjoyed playing darts with the Maple Leaf Darts team at Legion 560. The love of her cats Boots, Bridget and Puzz and all her grand animals meant a great deal to her. Thelma is survived by her husband Frank Elliott, son Gord Grierson (Laura) of British Columbia; Jim Grierson (Hazel) of Brockville; daughters Marguerite Elliott (Ivan) of Sharbot Lake, and Sharon Elliott of Kingston; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Gordon Grierson, sister Kathleen Skelton and granddaughter Laurie Lynn Grierson. The funeral was held November 29, 2002 with Canon Alex Walkleing officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons Ron, Paul, and Brian Elliott, Dan, Mark and Matt Grierson. Interment was at Oakland Cemetery in Brockville.
