Edith Ilean Woodland Passed away at Providence Manor on Monday November 4, 2002 at the age of 85 years. Ilean was born in Hinchinbrook, Ontario to William Shillington and Effie Thompson and was a lifelong resident of the Kingston area. She was a homemaker but also worked with planting flowers at Minaker’s Greenhouse and Stone’s Flowers in Kingston. While in good health Ilean enjoyed baking, canning, pickling and visiting. She loved the company of her family. She attended Polson Park Free Methodist Church and was a member of Eastern Star and the Pittsburg Women’s Institute. For the past twelve years Ilean was a resident at Providence Manor where she was treated with respect, dignity and loving care. She is survived by son Jim Barr (Georgi); daughters, Janet Basaraba (Bob), Joan Barr-Knox (Barry); sister, Eva Walker; brothers, Basil, Clifford and Clinton Shillington; grandchildren, Amy, Andrea, Bert and John Barr, Art, Ron, Rachel, Lisa Basaraba, and Bill Smith and Heather Bell, also many nieces and nephews. Ilean was predeceased by her first husband John Clayton Barr and second husband Charles Merritt Woodland; brothers, Wesley, Vern, Goldie, Austen and Floyd Shillington. The funeral was held Wednesday November 6, 2002 with Rev. Kent Bandy officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren Amy, Bert, John, Lisa, Ron and Bill.
