Earl Elijah Shaw HAY SETTLEMENT, NB - Earl Elijah Shaw of Hay Settlement went to his heavenly home from Saint John Regional Hospital May 1, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born in Simonds, Carleton County on August 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Harley and Muriel (Breen) Shaw. Earl is survived by his wife, Grace (Vautour); sons, Robert (Carla), Moncton, Stuart (Denyse), Wakefield, Kent (Bev), Maugerville and Grant (Leah) Woodstock; as well as dearly loved grandchildren, Shannon, Tarah, Kendra, Zane, Colby, Levi, and Isaac. Also mourning are sisters, Vivian (Harry) McLean, Waterville, Elva (late Ralph) Hoyt, McAdam, Wilma (Jack) Johnson, Nashwaaksis and Alton (Jean) Simonds. Earl was predeceased by a brother, Dawson. Earl's three great loves were his lord Jesus, his family and his church. He was well known by his many friends for his sense of humor, generosity and constant readiness to do favors. He enjoyed travel in other's countries and dozens of people from all over the world enjoyed and loved him for his helpfulness and his hospitality in his home. Earl will be sorely missed, but not forgotten. Visitation will be at the Meductic Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in Meductic Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 2 pm with Rev. Dale Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Upper Meductic Cemetery. As of expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Meductic Baptist Church.
