Harold Havelock Holden June 18, 1921 - May 03, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) HOLDEN, Harold Havelock - 83, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Born June 18, 1921, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ephriam and Beatrice (Nickerson) Holden. Harold was a 32 year veteran of the Canadian Army and served overseas during the Second World War and also a year with the United Nations Peace Keeping Force. Harold is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, the former Gladys Chandler; daughters, Jeanette (Malcolm), Deep Brook; Denise (David), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Darren, Dana, Raielle, Collin, Corey; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Lindsay; great-granddaughter, Kayla. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday and from where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Flowers welcome or a donation of a book to a local school, hospital or reading program would be appreciated as reading was Harold's passion in life.
