Hugh Edward Weston February 20, 1916 - April 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Avalon & Surrey Funeral Home WESTON, Hugh Edward With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather. Born February 20, 1916 in Britannia Beach, B.C. Hugh passed away peacefully on April 22, 2005 in the Charles Barham Pavilion at Surrey Memorial Hospital with family members at his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife Eleanor in 1996 and his daughter Audrey in 1979. Hugh is survived by his daughter Marilyn Thompson (Dick) of Point Roberts, his grandchildren Angela Hanley of Surrey, Garry Cooper of Port Coquitlam, Michael Thompson of Surrey, his great grandchildren Taylor Street, Chaundelle Street of Powell River, Shelby Cooper of Port Coquitlam, his sister Maxine Pitt of Duncan, his brother John Weston (Willie) of Richmond. Hugh served on the ground fire crew in England in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. In 1946, he married Eleanor and resumed his work in the lumber industry until his retirement in 1981. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ching Lau and the nursing staff at Northcrest Care Center and Charles Barham who cared for Hugh during his last 6 months. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 1:00pm at Avalon Surrey Funeral Home, 13288 108th Avenue, Surrey. Reception to follow.
