Francis "Joe" Joseph LeGoffic January 31, 1920 - May 07, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Francis Joseph “Joe” LeGoffic, age 85, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, May 7th, 2005, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Joe was born on January 31st, 1920, in Halifax and at an early age upon the death of his parents, the late Toussaint and Marie Barbe (Fougere) LeGoffic, he was raised by the late Marshall and Annie (Fougere) Landry. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas in Italy, France and Holland for 5 years with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He retired in the 1980’s, from D.N.D. Transport, Windsor Park, Halifax. He was a life member of Hants County Branch 009, Royal Canadian Legion, Matthew 25/Windsor Food Bank, St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Windsor. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was loved dearly by his family. He was well respected by his friends and in the community. He is survived by daughters, Joanne (Tom) Cooper, Halifax; Cynthia (Wayne) Loane, Ellershouse; Barbara (Rock) Cronk, Ellershouse; Charlene LeGoffic, Windsor; step-daughter, Congetta (Richard) Comeau, Digby; son, Joseph (Brenda) LeGoffic Jr., Fredericton, NB; step-son, Evan (Esther) LeGoffic, Williams Lake, BC; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence LeGoffic and son, Terry, Waverley; uncle Willard and aunt Naomi Fougere, and cousin, Evelyn Poirier (who was like a sister), Poulamond, Cape Breton. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dorothy Bellefontaine (2003); brothers, Louis and Terrance. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where Hants County Branch 009, will hold a Legion service at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be held, 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11th, 2005, in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, King Street, with Rev. Fr. J. J. MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place for both Joe and his wife, Dorothy, at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Oakhill Cemetery, Ellershouse. Donations may be made to the Windsor and District Food Bank.
