WATSON, (POND) (SHERWOOD) EILEEN ROBERTA 69, Milford, formerly of Shubenacadie. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, wife, grandmother, and sister, at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 8, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Devon, New Brunswick, Eileen was a daughter of the late Harry and Edith (Armstrong) Sherwood. Eileen was a longtime member of the Upper Maugerville United Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Shubenacadie Legion Ladies Auxilliary Branch 111. She enjoyed bingo, dancing, and darts, but most especially her family. Survived by her husband Robert, her six children, Richard Pond, Shubenacadie, Sheila Burris (Pond), Shubenacadie, Patricia (Robert) Brightman (Pond), Maitland, Gary (Lorna) Pond, Truro, Shirley (Robert) Reid (Pond), Cole Harbour, Kevin (Monique) Pond, Salisbury, NB; her seven grandchildren, Dave MacKenzie, John and Gayle Burris, Andrew and Parker Reid, Julia and Jessica Rennison; brothers, Walter Sherwood, Salisbury, NB, Allan Sherwood, Geary, NB; sisters, Carol Corbett, Barb Garrity, both of Fredericton, NB; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her own children, she also cared for at least 35 foster children. Besides Eileen's parents, she is predeceased by her first husband Orville Pond; children, Gail, James; brothers, Jackie, Bob; sisters, Jean and Mary. Visitation at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, this evening from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul Vanderkooy and Dr. Rev. Peter Sherwood officiating. Burial at a later date in Maugerville, NB.
