TURNBULL, Dr William 1917 - 2005 C'est avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous annonçons le décès du Dr William Turnbull, mari bien-aimé de Pierrette Daigle. Père dévoué de Jim (Danielle), Bill (Cindy) et Elizabeth (David Mill). Grand-père adoré de Ashley, Stephanie, Meghan, Chelsea, Christopher, Michelle et Jennifer. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses belles-soeurs Raymonde Roussel, Yolande Daigle, son beau-frère Jacques Daigle (Jeannine) et plusieurs nièces et neveux. Docteur Turnbull, gradué de l'Université McGill en médecine et spécialisé en ophthalmologie. Il poursuiva ses études spécialisées en Californie. Au début de sa carrière, le docteur Turnbull fut renommé pour la transplantation de la cornée. Il participa également à la recherche et publia plusieurs articles lus mondialement. Il possèdait une égalité d'âme et de caractère, et son jugement était toujours excellent. La famille recevra les condoléances le mardi 10 mai à 10 h suivi d'une messe à 11 h à l'église Annonciation située au 1020 boul. Laird, Mont-Royal. WILLIAM TURNBULL 1917 - 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. William Turnbull. Beloved husband of Pierrette Daigle. Devoted father of Jim (Danielle), Bill (Cindy) and Elizabeth (David Mill). Adored "Poppy" to Ashley, Stephanie, Meghan, Chelsea, Christopher, Michelle and Jennifer. He will be missed by sisters-in-law Raymonde Roussel, Yolande Daigle, brother-in-law Jacques Daigle (Jeannine) and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Turnbull graduated from McGill Medical School and specialized in ophthalmology. He pursued further studies in this field in California. At the beginning of his career, there was no specialization in ophthalmology. Dr. Turnbull began to do corneal transplants, which was the first specialized field to be taught at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He was a superb surgeon and excellent surgical teacher. He was involved in a number of research projects and published several articles. In character, he had a quiet equanimity and his judgment was always excellent. The service will be held at Annunciation Parish, 1020 Laird Blvd., Town of Mount Royal, Tuesday, May 10, at 11 a.m. The family will accept condolences at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Urgel Bourgie.
