Treacy: Frances Marie 1929 - 2005 It is with deep sadness our family announces the loss of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully in the Drumheller Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Frances leaves to cherish her memory: her three daughters; Audrey Treacy, Linda Jackson, Karen Treacy; eight grandchildren, Audra Hiller, Chad (Charlene) Hiller, Trenton Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Natasha (Franco) Giammarioli, Natara (Dale) Cardinal, Kailee Klemmensen, Kooter (Craig) Kaiser; five great-grandchildren, Kallee, Nerissa and Hayden Cardinal, Franco and Angelina Giammarioli; mother Maggie Gregory; sisters Margaret Gibeau, Catherine Gregory, Marilyn (Bill) Holt, Barbara (Ray) Shoemaker, Theresa (Jim) Adams; brothers Ralph (Muriel)Gregory, Ronnie (Zinnia) Gregory, Gilbert (Karen) Gregory; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her husband Jack Treacy, her father Rex Gregory, son-in-law James Jackson, and grandson Kody Klemmensen. Frances was born in Bassano, AB on February 16, 1929, and lived in the Chancellor/Hussar district her entire life. In 1949 she married Jack L. Treacy and on July 8, 1999 Jack and Frances celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their immediate family on a memorable cruise. Frances has been an active member in the Hussar community all her life. She sold Avon for 30 years, was a devoted past matron of Hussar Chapter #92, a worthy Grand Matron of Alberta O.E.S., and a Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, Sakkara Temple #115. She enjoyed many good times traveling with these organizations. Throughout her life she showed love, kindness, patience, and giving. The coffee pot was always on when family and friends dropped in. She loved her pets; cats and dogs alike. Frances touched many lives with her hospitality and gentle nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Frances' Life was held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary, AB, on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Frances' name directly to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund (P.O. Box 70038, Bowness Postal Outlet, Calgary, AB T3B 5K3) or to the Canadian Cancer Society (2nd Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 1A2).
