Peers: Gordon Keith 1939 - 2005 Keith, a resident of Drumheller for over 45 years, passed away suddenly in Calgary on February 15, 2005. Keith was born in Empress, Alberta on December 5, 1939 to Fred and Irene Peers of Acadia Valley. After graduating from high school in Acadia Valley, Keith moved to Drumheller to join the firm of Kergen and Aagard as an articling student. He later started his own accounting practice, followed by a move to a position with the City of Drumheller where he worked until his retirement in 1998. Keith took great pride in his family and friends. He cherished camping trips with family, fishing, golfing, curling, square dancing, and daily coffee with the guys. His greatest enjoyment came from the countless hours he spent with his grandchildren. Whenever the grandkids were around, Grandpa could be found right down on the floor playing alongside. Left to cherish Keith?s memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Helen; sons Warren (Melissa) and Brian (Sandra); and four precious grandchildren, Garrett, Daelyn, Sydney and Carter; sister Joy Ferguson; and two brothers, Larry and Glen; along with their families and many great friends. A memorial service was held on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Knox United Church at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jan Stevenson officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Drumheller Area Health Foundation, Palliative Care (351 - 9 Street N.W., Drumheller, Alberta T0J 0Y1), the Knox United Church Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice.
