Muriel C. Alward RIVER GLADE, NB - Muriel C. Alward, 93, of Jordan Life Care Centre, River Glade and formerly of Moncton passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday, May 14, 2005. Born in Hopewell Cape, she was the eldest child of the late Harry and Annie (MacEachern) Fownes. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Muriel was a member of First Moncton United Baptist Church and former member of the Idleour Group and Senior Sunday School class. Muriel will be sadly missed by her daughters, Mrs. Harold Plume (Jo), Mrs. William Parker (Carol), Mrs. Karl Hicks (Beverly); grandchildren, Timothy, Debra, Susan, Christine, Jennifer and Christopher; great grandchildren, BethAllison, Douglas, Michael, Jeremy and Ryan; sister, Margaret MacDougall, Amherst, NS; several nieces, nephews; and her canine pal, Compass Hicks. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sumner S. Alward (1990); brother, Donald Fownes; sisters, Dorcas Fownes, Lillian White and Jean Brooks. No visitation hours by request. Funeral Service at First Moncton United Baptist Church, Queen Street, Moncton, Wednesday, May 18, 2005, 3pm, Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Interment, Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
