Ruby Florence Slade September 13, 1934 - May 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SLADE, Ruby Florence - 70, Halifax, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, Ruby's passion was her family and her grandchildren, and she loved to play bingo. Surviving are her daughters, Ronda (Robert) Dedrick, Halifax; Brenda Slade and fiancé Phillip Hickey, Halifax; grandchildren, Tracy Dedrick, Robbie Dedrick, Ashlee Hill, and Amy-Lynn Hickey. Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Ronald. At Ruby's request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Ruby's home on Sunday, May 22, from 2-4 p.m. Donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII.
