STICKNEY, KATHRYN JEAN (nee SMALLEY) - A Good Anglican. Died April 30, 2005 at the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 75. Survived by husband Roy of 55 years, sons Brian (Charlene) and Robert (Roslyn) and her dearest grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah and Jacob. Sisters, Joycelyn (Elwood), Patricia and Dorothy (Weldon). Brother Robert and numerous nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends. Predeceased by son Stuart and sister Georgie. Born November 16, 1929 in Florenceville, NB. At age 17 took up the teaching profession. Moved west in 1962 and to Kelowna in 1964 where she continued teaching. She and husband Roy travelled to many countries and in later years, by motorhome, covered most of North America. A most caring and compassionate woman who took many under her wing. Kathryn enjoyed many things throughout her years. Curling, bowling, Kinettes, hosting K-40 functions and being with family and friends just to name a few. Kathryn was an avid card player and had a love of bridge. Her hobbies were petit point & quilting and will bring us the most cherished memories. Memorial Service was held at St. Michael & All Angels' Church, 608 Sutherland Ave. on Wed. May 4th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kathryn Stickney's memory to the charity of your choice. [Telegraph-Journal]
