Mary Theresa Miller (née Rankin) May 04, 1936 - May 16, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) MILLER, Mary Theresa - 69, Waverley, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mary was born in the Magdalen Islands and moved to Nova Scotia at the age of three. She was a daughter of the late Percy and Elsie (Rogers) Rankin. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charles; daughter, Carolyn and husband Rod Conrad, Dartmouth; son, Michael and fiancée Paulette, Wellington; grandsons, Gregory, Shawn, Sasha; sister, Shirley (Robert Bell), Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. Mary worked for 22 years at Imperial Oil, three years with Cassavechia Contracting and 18 years at Conrad Brother Limited. After her retirement she worked as a personal care worker and took care of many people in her community of Waverley. Mary enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club for 48 years, and her bowling league. Most of all, she loved the time that she spent at her cottage in Lake Charlotte. She was predeceased by sisters, Barbara MacDonald and Audrey Gibson. She was a blessing to all who knew her. We will celebrate Mary's life with a memorial service that will be held in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, on Friday, May 20, at 2 p.m. No visitation by request. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Centre. Family flowers only. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
