MATHESON, HILYARD R. - at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home on Wednesday, May, 18th, 2005, Hilyard Ronald Matheson, husband of Lillian E. (Underwood) Matheson of West Saint John, NB. Born December 11th, 1921, son of the late William & Josephine (Wetmore) (Craig) Matheson. Hilyard worked most of his life for the City of Lancaster where he was President of the Union until amalgamation with the City of Saint John, retiring in 1979. Over his many years he played baseball, bowling and his favorite, golf, as a member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. Surviving in addition to his wife Lillian are his sons and daughter, Margo Matheson of West Saint John, Rennie (Linda) of South Oromocto Lake, Terry (Lynn) and Chris (Coral) all of Martinon, grandchildren, Donnie, Dougie, Clayton, Starr, Morgan and Evan, great grandchildren, Cody , Connor, and Andrea, brothers Walter (Bunky) and Wallace (Ethel), sister Bonnie (Edwina), Noreen, Lorraine, nieces and nephews. Hilyard was predeceased by brother Gordon and Edward (Buddy). Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, NB (506 - 634 - 1701) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, May, 21st, 2005 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Donations to the Alzheimers Society of Saint John , St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home or charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
