PLOSZCZANSKY, Harry - Niagara Falls Businessman - Beloved husband of 51 years to Elizabeth Devoted father of Irene Ploszczansky-Kis and her husband John of Niagara Falls ,George Ploszczansky and Cassidy of Toronto. Loving grandfather to Christopher Ploszczansky. Remembered by Eugenia, Christopher's mother; sister-in-law Stephanie Kazaniwsky and husband Dobromyr with their children Alex and Anita; numerous dear friends and relatives in Canada, Ukraine and Poland. Born in Hoshiw, Ukraine, Harry began his early days as a businessman by starting a restaurant and pop factory in Ukraine. Immigrating to Canada in 1948 he began working on a farm in Saskatchewan, but quickly moved on to become a Master Butcher with Canada Packers in St. Catharines where he married his beloved wife Elizabeth in 1953, later moving to Niagara Falls where they raised their daughter and son. He became an active member of the Ukrainian community and parishioner of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church and a choir member of Homin in St. Catharines. He continued his business ventures with his wife first at Stanley Meat Market and Grocery for 18 years, and later purchasing the Cataract Motel in 1965 which they ran together until retirement in 1995. Harry ended his journey on March 3, 2005 in his 96th year at the Hon. Roy and Helen Lawson - Eventide Home. Many thanks to the caring nursing staff and doctors. Visitation will be at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. with Funeral Services Monday March 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6248 Main St. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
